A 14 Year-old Toronto kid meets John Lennon at a local hotel back in 1969 and gets The Beatle to give an interview which he records on tape.  It’s particularly remarkable because young Jerry Levitan guesses the hotel where he thinks the Beatles are staying, gets it right, sneaks up to the top floor, and knocks on every room until he lucks out, finding Lennon’s room with the musician inside….

Flash forward to 2007, when he produces a film short using the audio and the work of some very talented Canadian animators.  And now, a fully grown Jerry, lawyer by day, gets an Academy Award nod for thie film.  Not bad for the work of a teenaged groupie…
